Welcome to my 'Bowdler' one-name study web site. I hope you find it interesting and informative.

I have written these pages and a lot of the research is mine, but much of the research that these pages are based on is due to the hard work of members of the Bowdler Family History Society. Special thanks also to my parents Joy and Terry Bowdler for getting me started.

Although we have now spread all over the world, the Bowdlers are an old Shropshire family. The first Bowdler, Baldwin de Boulers, came to Britain in 1105 to take up the Lordship of Montgomery on the Welsh Marches and the family stayed in the Shropshire area for several hundred years.
